How do GGH auctions work?

Two types of auctions

GGH runs two formats of live auctions:

English auctions: price goes up. Bidders compete by raising the price one increment at a time. The highest bidder when the timer ends wins.

Dutch auctions: price drops over time. The price starts high and falls each minute. The first person to bid wins immediately at the current price.

Both types run in real time. Bids and price changes appear live on the lot page without refreshing.

Anti-snipe protection (English auctions)

If a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes of an English auction, the auction automatically extends by 5 minutes. This prevents last-second sniping and gives all bidders a fair chance to respond.

Extensions can stack: if another bid comes in during the extended window, the clock resets again.

Minimum tier lots

Some auction lots are restricted to verified or premium account tiers. The lot page will show the requirement. Upgrade your tier by increasing your lifetime spending at GGH.
