# How do I place a bid?

## Before you bid

- Log in to your Green Gate account.
- Check the lot's minimum tier. You can only bid on lots open to your auction tier.
- Your account must be in good standing. Accounts with an active suspension or ban cannot bid.

## English auctions

1. Enter your bid. It must be at least the current highest bid plus the lot's increment. If the increment is P100 and the highest bid is P1,000, your bid must be at least P1,100.
2. Tick the box to agree to the auction rules.
3. Click Submit. Your bid goes live right away.

You cannot bid again while you are the highest bidder. If someone outbids you, we notify you on the site and by email.

## Dutch auctions

The price drops every minute. When it reaches a price you want to pay, bid. The first bid wins the lot at the current price, and the auction ends.

## Every bid is final

You cannot take a bid back. If you win, you must pay within 48 hours.

If a winner doesn't pay in time, we may offer the lot to the next highest bidder at their last bid. If that is you, you get the same 48 hours to pay.
